‘Tomb Raider’ Fan Recreates Croft Manor in LEGO Worlds

There may not be a LEGO game set in the Tomb Raider universe (yet) but I’m sure many of us would sell our souls for a LEGO Tomb Raider game after seeing this fan-made recreation of Croft Manor. Die-hard Tomb Raider fan and LEGO aficionado Ross Kearney created a spectacular mash-up of Croft Manor in LEGO Worlds, a feat that took him over 80 hours to complete. From the obstacle course and garden maze first seen in Tomb Raider 2 to the treasure vault (and T-rex head) seen in Tomb Raider ... [Continue Reading]

‘Rise of the Tomb Raider’ PC Tech Feature

Anyone who’s had the chance to play Rise of the Tomb Raider on the Xbox One will no doubt be familiar with the game’s hauntingly beautiful, atmospheric tombs and its scenic sprawling hubs, not to mention its stunning heroine. Countless hours could be spent exploring every nook and cranny and marvelling at the crumbling ruins of a once-glorious city. And if this wasn’t enough, Crystal Dynamics and the Utrecht-based Nixxes Software teamed up with Nvidia to push the PC version ... [Continue Reading]

What to Expect at E3 2015

E3 2015 opens in less than 2 weeks and the Tomb Raider fan community is already buzzing with excitement. Earlier this week, Xbox and Crystal Dynamics released a short CGI teaser trailer to whet the fanbase’s appetite while visitors to the game’s official Xbox page were invited to look for clues hidden across the page. These clues were little tidbits of information about the game’s plot and primary antagonists, narrated by Lara (Camilla Luddington) herself. You can find ... [Continue Reading]

Lara Croft: Relic Run – Fan Reactions and Reviews

The adventure-runner mobile game Lara Croft: Relic Run was officially launched today and, judging from my Facebook page and Twitter timeline, it’s been pretty well received by the Tomb Raider fan community. Fans’ fears that Relic Run would be little more than a Temple Run clone have been put to rest and not an hour goes by without someone sharing a screenshot of yet another unfortunate (but often hilarious) ragdoll death. Download the game: Google Play || iTunes App Store || ... [Continue Reading]

Tomb Raided – Issue 2

It’s time for another helping of Tomb Raider goodness courtesy of the Tomb Raider fan community! I’d like to thank everyone who gave me feedback on this new (weekly) feature and let me know what they’d like to see more of in future editions. 🙂 Before we move on to what my fellow fans and fansite owners have been up to over the past week, here are some recent articles of mine that you may have missed: an in-depth look at the griffin-head protome seen in TR: Anniversary, a ... Lara Croft: Relic Run – First Impressions and Screenshots

UPDATE: Lara Croft: Relic Run is now available across the world for iOS devices, Android, and Windows Phone. Please note that it may not be compatible with older devices or available in all countries just yet. The upcoming mobile adventure-runner game Lara Croft: Relic Run was soft-launched in the Netherlands today and, honestly, it couldn’t have come at a better time. My day started off on the wrong foot, with every form of Dutch public transport conspiring to make me wish I had never ... [Continue Reading]

The Rise of the Console Exclusive Raider?

Pretty much anyone who has been following this week’s gaming industry news already knows about the “Great Tomb Raider PR Blunder of 2014”. When Crystal Dynamics’ Head of Studios Darrell Gallagher posted his special announcement on the official Tomb Raider Blog on Tuesday, there was a great disturbance in the TR fan community, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in anger and yelled “Oh, hell no!” And understandably so. Tomb Raider has been a ... [Continue Reading]
