No New ‘Tomb Raider’ Content at E3 2017?

Tomb Raider fans expecting to see a preview of Lara Croft’s next adventure at E3 2017 may be in for a disappointment. According to Crystal Dynamics Senior Community Manager Meagan Marie, this “will be a quiet E3 for Lara, but we’re looking forward to catching up on her new adventure later this year”. It’s unclear if this means there’ll be absolutely no new content on show at E3 (perhaps we’ll get a title and/or release date), but all I can say ... [Continue Reading]

Lara Croft, Guinness World Record Breaker

October 2016 was an insanely busy month for Ms Croft. Not only did Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration finally land on Playstation 4, it was also the 20th anniversary of Tomb Raider (1996), the game that launched Lara Croft into superstardom. And if that wasn’t enough, our fictional heroine was also awarded two new Guinness World Records: “Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Lara Croft” and “Most Magazine Covers for a Video Game Character”. ... 8 Things I Missed While on Hiatus

As you probably know by now, The Archaeology of Tomb Raider has just returned from a 3-month hiatus. Granted, I didn’t physically go anywhere but I gave myself a much-needed break from monitoring and relaying Tomb Raider franchise news to my readers and social media followers. Time and tide wait for no Croft and, as a result, I’m now feeling a little out of the proverbial loop… So what did I miss during the site’s downtime? Oscar-Winning Actress Lands Role as the New ... The Archaeology of Tomb Raider’s Year in Review: 2015

2015 has been an emotional roller coaster of a year for Tomb Raider fans. We’ve had announcements about new spin-off media, seen the release of not one but three new games, and had to deal with the fallout (no pun intended) of Rise of the Tomb Raider’s console exclusivity deal. It’s been a particularly trying time for Tomb Raider fansite admins, who’ve spent the better part of the year feeling torn between promoting a game half of the fan base wouldn’t be able to ... 5 Reasons Why You Should Make a Donation to Extra Life

For the last couple of years, I’ve joined thousands of other gamers in their quest to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals by taking part in Extra Life, an annual charity gaming event that was launched back in 2008. Since its inception, gamers have raised a massive $20 million (and counting) for sick children and their families across North America and abroad. How amazing is that? It’s easy to be cynical about charity fundraisers or suffer from “charity ... [Continue Reading]

What to Expect at E3 2015

E3 2015 opens in less than 2 weeks and the Tomb Raider fan community is already buzzing with excitement. Earlier this week, Xbox and Crystal Dynamics released a short CGI teaser trailer to whet the fanbase’s appetite while visitors to the game’s official Xbox page were invited to look for clues hidden across the page. These clues were little tidbits of information about the game’s plot and primary antagonists, narrated by Lara (Camilla Luddington) herself. You can find ... [Continue Reading]
